Microsoft's foray into personal music delivery services reached its peak with the Zune. The release schedule was extremely aggressive -- about 8 months from concept to start of production!
My primary responsibilities were to partner with program management to develop the UX for the PC client and integrate key features like social sharing and subscription management into the ecosystem. Working primarily with a visual designer, we found a way to reskin an existing media player (Windows Media Player) and integrate backend services (Urge, used by MTV) to create the application.
